Load restraint bars provide load containment of goods during transit for fixed body vehicles and trailers fitted with internal tracks. Load restraint bars are used in-conjunction with specialist steel load bar cups which securely fasten to the vehicles internal tracks.
Our load restraint bars, also known as trailer shoring bars and cargo restraint bars are made from tough durable steel with bright zinc plating finish. Available in standard 2.5metre lengths and also bespoke made to measure.
You should use load restraint bars when transporting loads in vehicles fitted with internal 25mm hole tracks when there is a risk of movement or goods. It is vital to make sure that any trailer shoring bars you’re using are secure before you set off. Failure to do so could result in damage or danger to persons or property.
Weight capacity of shoring bars
One of the most important things to consider is the weight of the load you’re using a load restraint bar. You’ll need to have a rough idea of how much your cargo weighs and use a suitable type and number of bars to secure it. The safe working load limit (WLL) on our rigid load restraint bars is 1000kg spread equally across bar. To safely secure a load, the combined WLL must be greater than the weight of the load itself. It’s always recommended to use poles in pairs depending on where the internal tracks are fitted.
Length of bars
The load restraint bar needs to be long enough to reach from the face of the track on one side of the vehicle or trailer to the face of the track on the opposite side to safely secure into the load bar cups.
